Construction workers in the Czech Republic uncovered a vast 2,200‑year‑old Celtic settlement while surveying land for a highway near Hradec Králové. Spanning 62 acres, the site is one of the largest Iron Age discoveries in the region. Over two years of excavation, archaeologists recovered thousands of artifacts, including gold and silver coins modeled after Roman designs, more than 1,000 pieces of jewelry, pottery, metal vessels, glass beads, and Baltic amber. The find, preserved for centuries underground, reveals evidence of highly skilled artisans and offers rare insight into Celtic life in Bohemia.
